Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test
Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) will be conducted by DTE (Directorate of Technical Education), Maharashtra. In 2014 and 2015 the state level engineering colleges in Maharashtra offered admission based on JEE Main score. But now you will get admission in various colleges in Maharashtra in your B.Tech, B.Pharm, LLB, MBA etc programs on the basis of marks you score in MHT CET.
In Maharashtra, this exam is very competitive. As per the data released by DTE Maharashtra, in 2018, the number of candidates registered for MHT CET were around 4,35,606 . While in 2017 and 2016 the number of candidates registered for MHT CET was around 3,89,520 and 4,09,276 respectively.
If you are eligible as per the criteria determined DTE then you can fill the online application form which would be released tentatively in the 3rd week of January. After clearing MHT CET exam which would be around 2nd week of May you will get the call for counseling process where according to your preferences and marks scored in the entrance examination of MAHA CET you will be allotted to colleges in Maharashtra.
According to MHT CET Exam Pattern which is released by DTE Maharashtra, The syllabus for the questions which would be asked in the entrance exam is same of that syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. The question paper of this exam will be consist of approximately 20% weightage of class 11th and around 80% weightage will be from class 12th .
